How to Make Simple Beaded Jewelry
Purchase some elastic thread and medium sized beads. Seed beads are too small, and pony beads are too big.
Decide what kind of jewelry you would like to make. This idea works well for necklaces, bracelets, rings, and anklets.
Cut a piece of elastic thread about 2 - 4 inches longer than what you need for your project.
Tie a bead onto one end of the piece of thread so the other beads do not fall off once you thread them on.
String desired beads onto the elastic.
Tie the two ends of the elastic together.
Cut off the extra thread....simple as that!
Add a charm or two from The Charm Barn to add a theme to your project - or to make it as unique as the person who will be wearing it.
Alphabet beads are fun to use for this craft!
If you make a bracelet or ring, you will want it snug around your wrist or finger so it doesn't slide off.
If you want to get fancier, you can position the beads where you want them by strategically tying small knots in the elastic.
How To Make Wine Charms
Supplies needed (per wine glass charm):
8 Beads, assorted or all the same, be creative!
Charms from The Charm Barn; as many as you like or in any theme to match your event
Ring size memory wire
Round nose pliers
Cut one loop of memory wire per wine glass charm you will be making.
With the round nose pliers, make an open loop on one end of the wire.
Add your beads to the memory wire, alternating colors. Place a charm or charms in the middle of the beads.
Now form an open loop on the other end to be the closer.
Place your charm around the wine glass and insert the open loop into the closed loop and squeeze to attach.
Now your guests will not have any trouble locating their glass at your next party!
Create Holiday Napkin Rings using Charms
Are you in the holiday crafting mood yet? As the weather cools, you might want to get a head start on your holiday decorations by creating these cool napkin rings with charms.
Here is what you will need:
(15) round 5 mm beads in Christmas colors
(15) round 3 mm beads in Christmas colors
Small gauge jewelry wire or fuse wire
Cut a piece of your jewelry wire to a length of 25 cms long. Using a needle nosed pliers, twist one end of the wire into a small loop to prevent your beads from falling off. Start threading your beads onto the wire, alternating the large and small beads. Thread on 15 beads, then add your charm, and then go back to alternating your beads. Twist together the two ends of the wire and cut off any excess. How simple is that!
